An Old Christmas Card

You will need

Tubes of your choice

1: Open the card-sel in PSP. Shift D to duplicate. Close the original.

2: Selections load selections from alpha channel.

3: Flood with a colour of your choice.

Leave selected.

Add a new raster layer.

Flood with gold.

Leave selected.

4: Selections, modify contract by 4. Hit delete once.

layers merge visible.

Leave selected.

5: Effects texture effects, texture with the following settings.

Select none.

6: Duplicate this merged layer twice.

X out the top and middle layers and click on the bottom layer.

7:  Select your text tool with create as vector selected. Add any text you want inside your card on this back layer.

Convert to raster layer.

Add any other little embellishments you wish, but don't make it too busy.

Merge visible. Rename back.

8: Un-X the top layer and make it your active layer.

9: Open the tube/tubes you wish to use for the front of your cars. Re-size and arrange as required.

10: Add any text you wish on the front of your card.

When you are happy with the front of your card X oiut the back layer and merge visible.

Rename this layer front1.

Layers duplicate. Rename this layer front2.

11: Activate the raster deform tool. Click on the right center node and pull to the center of the card. See screenshot

12: Duplicate front 2 and rename front3.

Using the deform tool again pull almost to the left edge of the card.

3: Go back to the final blank you have for your card and drag it to the top and rename frontinside1.

Layers duplicate. Rename frontinside2.

X out frontinside1 and work on frontinside2.

13: Using the raster deform tool click on the right center node and pull right over your card for about 2 squares past the left side of your card. See graphic.

14: Duplicate front1 again and rename frontinside3. Pull to the top.

15: Using the deform tool as before pull over the top of the card to the left side until it's about halfway open.

16: Pull the layer frontinside1 to the top. Image mirror. Move until it is exactly next to the bottom layer of your card.

17: Your now need to duplicate back layer 4 times so as you have a total of 5 copies. Arrange as is my screenshot below.

18:X out all layers except back and front2. Layers merge visible.

Work your way to the top X-ing out the layers as you go and merging one back layer with one front layer.

19: When you are done unX all the layers. Crop away most of the excess. Click on the bottom layer and save as a PSP 7 compatible image.

Animation

1: Open your image in animation shop. Click on the right side and pull out to open all the layers.

2: Edit, select all.

3: Animation, frame properties 35.

4: Click on the very last frame.

Animation, frame properties 125.

5: View animation. If you are happy with the way your animation flows save as a gif image. If not change the animation settings to the ones of your choice and save as a gif image.
